Cursed Affection is an original, one-of-one artwork drawn freehand and burned entirely by hand on basswood. The piece captures a violent intimacy—where attachment, obsession, and restraint collapse into something feral and unavoidable. What appears as closeness is laced with control, conflict, and distortion.
The artwork was created using traditional pyrography techniques from start to finish. The composition was conceived from imagination and drawn directly onto the wood without tracing or templates, then burned line by line by hand over the course of 25+ hours. No CNC machines, lasers, or mechanical reproduction processes are used at any stage.
Although themes or motifs may be revisited in future works, each piece is always redrawn from scratch. Because the process is entirely manual, no two artworks are ever identical. Every finished work exists as a physically unique original with its own variations, decisions, and character.
The piece is completed on basswood, selected for its ability to hold intricate detail and contrast while allowing the natural grain to remain present. The finished size is 12” × 18”, and it is available with a white, black, or brown frame to complement different spaces and lighting environments.
Cursed Affection is intended as a statement piece—created for collectors and spaces that gravitate toward emotionally charged, confrontational, and uncompromising original artwork.
